Atlanta Architect Johnna Doane Barrett ranked fourth among the Top Fifty Entrepreneurs in Atlanta by Catalyst Magazine in their fall issue. Only one other architectural firm made the list.
"I truly love Atlanta, and as a catalyst in the community, I hope to be seen as an architect who visualizes and creates with the end in sight," says Johnna Doane. "I see spaces for what they can be, not what they are."
Barrett Design Inc. has planned and designed successful projects in 16 states, including commercial office buildings, retail centers, multifamily residential, resort and hospitality developments, night clubs, and music venues, restaurants and interiors. The majority of Barrett Design projects are focused in the Southeast though projects are in progress in locations throughout the country.
Doane further commented, "Our profession is the perfect blend of art and science. When architects focus too heavily on structure, and when the focus leans too heavily on the artistic side, one merely has a designer without the ability to make their vision a reality. Interior design and architecture must be disciplines unified to create a consistent theme throughout every detail of a project. Spaces need to be meaningful. My goal is to awaken a visceral reaction and satisfy an innate need through design."
Other awards earned by Johnna include "Best Interior Design under $250,000" at The Nationals and at the National Homebuilder's Association 2006 Awards, Johnna was a National Finalist in Best Interior Design for her work at Paramount Condominium.
